The Civil War (1922-1923) in Wexford saw the most intensive fighting in the county since the 1798 rebellion, with numerous people killed and injured and wide scale damage occurring to buildings, roads, bridges and trains. This project hopes to identify and record the surviving physical evidence of the conflict, with an initial focus on Enniscorthy. It will be overseen by archaeologists Colm Moriarty and Catherine McLoughlin and funding has been generously provided by Wexford County Council.
